Philosophical Enquiry is a highly effective and practical dialogue based approach to learning. One popular version used in schools is referred to as ‘Philosophy for Children’ or ‘P4C’. This specific approach was developed over thirty years ago to address concerns relating to the thinking skills of students.
Philosophical Enquiry can trace its heratige back to Ancient Greece, and should certainly not be viewed as another ‘latest new thing in education’. It also challenges misconceptions relating to the nature of philosophy and who is able to philosophise. Calum can offer accredited training in P4C, or design a course to meet the specific needs of those taking part.
Further information can be found at the SAPERE website (the national body promoting P4C in the uk).
